This is a "Sand Box" I built for Bob the Tort. It is made of scrap lumber (plywood and outdoor grade flake composite board). The tub is appx 35" X 24" X 10". The side walls are appx 18" high. The tub has drain holes drilled all over the bottom, and sits on runners to prevent standing water from siphoning up into the tub. There is a small plastic igloo dome buried with a sloping entrance (see pic #3). The "dirt" is 2 50lb bags of play sand and 1.5 cubic yards of organic soil. There is a layer of pure sand first, for drainage, and then the rest is a mix. Make sure you do not get "fertilizer added" soil.

It's OFFICIAL, Bob has bedded down for the winter
I removed the buried dome as Bob refused to go into it. He liked to use it when it was outside on the patio.
